Snow removal and dust control and back filling pot holes are what AANDC provides funding for about 80% of funding goes to snow removal and dust control there is very little left for surface maintenance backfilling pot holes.

AANDC policy is the Indian Reserves do not require paved roads and are considered a low priority for funding and road improvements.
